Positions for Hire
We are looking for folks interested in Outdoor Education who have a passion for mentoring elementary students in the local Sewanee area. Our after school program is offered to the students (ages 6-11) who attend Sewanee Elementary School. The program runs during the week (depending on family need) from 2:30 - 5:00, and focuses on play & exploration around Sewanee's campus. We take students on hikes, explore nearby trails and learn about local flora/fauna. The program operates rain or shine, so our mentors must be prepared for rainy days! We are hiring outdoor educators with experience working with students in a natural setting for our 2023-24 Forest Preschool Program. Our Forest Preschool Program focuses on social/emotional learning, creative play, and discovery & exploration outside on the beautiful Cumberland Plateau. Preschool serves ages 3-5, and a background working in an outdoor setting with children is required. Preschool operates rain or shine, so educators must be prepared for rainy days!
